Do Hard Things- Chapter 5- Reflection

The bible verse that supports the breaking out comfort zones is 2 Timothy 2:7. Which says, for God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. This verse means that fear and timidity will keep you from using the gifts God has given you to help people in need. He has not given us a spirit of fear so we don’t need to be afraid of anything. People are usually scared of trying new things like it says on the Do Hard Things Book, that people don’t want to try new things or in other words that they want to stay the same. He also wants us to tell people about God, which challenges us trying new things, are one of them. God wants you to take His power, His love, and His calm thinking and overcome the fear that you have to be used of Him with all the Talents God has given you.

One of the zone breakers that the Harris twins describe is that God works through our weakness to accomplish his big plans. One of the people who tried to do hard things even though they can’t do it is Alyssa. She discovered that if we keep doing things we wanted it to be, we won’t serve God fully but if we stepped out of our comfort zone, we will seek God and asked for help to him. An example of how God uses people through their weakness is a person named Smith Wigglesworth. He can’t read and do public speaking until he was an adult and God used him. He used him to be the England’s greatest impediment. This only some examples of how God has helped him but there is still more person that he can help and It can be one of you.

The second zone breaker is that courage is not the absence of fear. This means that in life we need to have courage to do everything and not just sit around. For example there is a story about someone pregnant at school. Everyone started to get away with Betsy because she was suddenly pregnant but Grace was not eager to get near Betsy but she had fear that everyone will think bad about her so he don’t do it even though there is a voice whispering to Go to her. So we need to face our fear even though others may think that it is impossible or it is like a thing that but REMEMBERS GOD IS WITH YOU.

The third zone breaker talks about you can’t get to success without risking failure. This means in life we need to try things even though it is hard. For example a fourteen year old name Caleb had music equipment and he doesn’t know how it works. So he tried it and within six week of every minute, he spends the time and makes lots of mistake. Even though he makes lots of mistake, he still tried to improve on it and finally he makes music recording. He started to make the members bigger and teenager started to add to this music group. Also, as people of God, we need to keep trying to do things and never give up. So from now on don’t let small failures keeps you away from gaining important skills!

My life could change in so many aspects if I believe in God for example if I don’t believe in God, my life won’t have any strong foundation. It means that if we are sad at something or wants someone to help we could not ask god for help or to help us lead our lives. God will also help us to make the right decision of our daily lives. For example he helped me to make a right decision at studying and helping me to study hard so that I can be success. He also tells me what I am supposed to do and what I am not supposed to do. At grade 3, he tells me what I am not supposed to do like bully people. He also tells me what I am supposed to do like to study hard and make my parents happy.

My life would be entirely different if I choose to do hard things. This means that I can even be smarter than I was before because I choose to study hard and believe in God. But in this past unit I haven’t tried my best because sometimes lazy of doing things or being forgetful of everything. I will also trust god more because God will help me on doing homework. Some of the ways that God can help in my daily life is helping me to get the right answers and leading me to the right way of doing homework. I want also to try to read harder books because I haven’t tried it. If I stepped out of my comfort zone and do these, I can be a fluent speaker because book helped me at English. I can also make good vocabulary stories at school and also used it in our daily lives.

My Unit 3

Our unit 3 is about How we Organize Ourselves. This talks about how everyone should be treated the same. Being treated the same as everyone else is very important even though you and I are different in languange, country, etc. One of the points that includes in how we organize ourselves is human rights and soical justice. They helped people to have shelter, foods and medical supplies. Our summative task in this unit is too make a make up an organization which later then we need to present in front of the class. So thisw is what I will do

Do Hard Things Chapter 3&4

This is a reflection of Do Hard Things Chapter 3. This is a book how we must fight low expectation and do high expextation.

I feel that I was doing doing things in such a low expextation. Like it says on page 38, teens are only expected to do one chore only each day. Even I feel that sometimes I don't even do any chores which mean I am doing a lower expectation than it even says. Since I read this book, now I know that I have been doing such a low expectation,. I feel that I want to stand our from my comfort zonewhich is being helped by maid to do things alone. By doing this I can be independence when I am teenager.
It also says that nowdays children don't have high expectation which mean that we will missed our childhood times. For example, at the age of 12 you could even make a simple book to sell. This will be good, because by doing this you could prepare for your adulthood. For example the person who wote DO HARD THINGS is only a teenager and they can make 241 pages fo book. It usually takes an adult to do that but they stepeed out of the comfort zone.

Reading web Log Week 9

Mr. Phileas Fogg lived, in 1872 lived in London, England. Many people says that he looked like a poet, he was quite old he was 40 years old. He is a humongous and tall man. In his daily life he usually goes to a club every evening where he usually reads magazines and drink tea there. One day a person at the club wants to bet Phileas Fogg that he needs to travel around the world in precisely 80 days and he will get a lot of money. So he decided to do that and started to do it that day. SO he went home and pack all the things. He was as happy as person who's is going to go to heaven. So he brought his mate and started to travel around the world.

UOI Unit reflection (Week 1-6)

We do many things in these 6 weeks, when we come in the class we arrange our sits and our items that we brought. Then we have Grade Level Meeting which Miss Jo, she explain us the new rules that SPH made. The new rules are that we cannot bring hand phones that have camera or internet access. Then we come back in to the class for the teacher to explain themselves and the specific rules for each class. We come with 3 rules which are Respect God/others, Do your Best and HAVE FUN!! After making the class set up, Mr. and Ibu Etik explains about our unit while we write it. At biblical studies, we have been discussing about our theme which is hardship to hope. I learned that for a person to get to hope we need to face hardships and through that God can change our character to be nicer. We try to decorate our class now so we decided to put a picture of ourselves and the body. The body is for explaining what we are good at. Them we need to make an explanation about that symbol or why at your good at that subject. After decorating our room, we started doing the summative assignment. Our first assignment is to do an oral presentation about what influences me and how it can influences us badly or goodly. After finishing that, we need to do our UOI summative assignment which is Task 2, and 4. In this assignment, we need to make an explanation about how we got to a baby and our childhood. It is fun to explain our childhoods, it is like a recount of our life. Our task 4 assignment is to create a game at sports for an appropriate age. Though it is quite challenging but as a team we can do it. After completing all this assignments, we need to print all ask 2, 3 and 4 in color and hand it in as a book.

The most important thing that I learned about me is that I am very unique and special. God made me one of a kind with different. He made us to do certain things and having different multiple intelligences. For me I like to do what incorporates with computer and a little bit maths because I like this subject. We are sometimes not perfect because we do mistakes which sins. Even though we’re Christians, we still can make mistakes like lying or being naught and other things. I learned that God is very nice to all the people in the world. He makes me grow from just a tiny egg and a tiny sperm. From this I learned that God id very pleasant to me, how he made me from when I was only a sperm and an egg until now 11 years old.



I really enjoyed working at my task 4 because it’s quite challenging. I learned that being teacher is a hard job especially to teach diminutive children. I also like to make games because it can make me more creative and it can my brain to flow (be healthy). I also like this task because it’s like an adventure of teaching. Well sometime it’s hard to teach when people are talking. Like when me and Jason try to teach the other groups, they were not listening at all. So all get wrong balls started shooting the cones which are supposed not to do. I also like doing Task 2 because it’s fun to know how I form from an egg and a sperm to become a baby and how it becomes me. I learn many things from this task 2 like how does a mother became pregnant and other things like how does in feel to pregnant.

Task 3 is the challenging assignment it is quite hard because when I am at the age 8-10, I don’t really change a lot. Well maybe the body, sound and action that I made. I only change by that which means that it is harder to make an explanation of 2-3 pages long. My strategies were to search information at the internet. Then I find out that I actually change a lot that I don’t realize. I try to use good website like from a doctor or a hospital. I also tried people as bibliography like my uncle, my uncle was one of the biography because he had he children at the age three, five and nine so I asked him how does his children change from time to time.

There are 2 PYP attitudes and 2 IB profile that used in these past few 6 weeks. One of the PYP attitudes is curiosity. I show my attributes to my parents because when she explains all of my childhood, I like to ask questions about my childhood. By asking showing questions, I also like to research for more information so that I can now the answer of that question that is in my mind all the time. The other PYP attitudes that I showed is Confidence. I showed my confidence by not scared to ask questions and not being afraid. I also showed my IB profile which is thinkers. I like to think in this unit. I am also an inquirer in this unit because I like to research about many things.

My week 6 reflection

This week have been a very busy week. We have lots of homework and our task 3 and 4 are due at Friday. Almost everyday I slept at around 10-11 o'clock because I have lots of homeworks. By the end of friday, I need to make a booklet showing my life from conception to birth and then my 0-2, 4-6, 8-10 years old. I also need to make a game for my task 4 to a specific age. My game is called turf wars and its is decided to be played by grade 6 or at the age 11. I was so happy when we finish this task because it means no more homeworks about my life. YEY!!

English Reading Log Sumarry Week 5

When their mother left, his grandmother is cranky and demanding, she also yells at George for growing too fast. So he decided to make a medicine so that his grandma will be normal or at least he will just make fun of her. He just have one hour to work on the medicine. So He carries a stewpot from room to room, he even dumps everything he can find. He uses oil and antifreeze from the garage and animal pills from the henhouse. He boils his stinky, smoking mixture on the stove. So he kept stirring and stirring until the potion is blue. At eleven o’clock, he gives his medicine to grandma. He gives a spoonful of the medicine he made to grandma. When she drinks that medicine, suddenly grandma shoots. When she landed on the ground, George gives her water. Then she becomes thin and tall. When George’s parents come home, they are so excited that they give the medicine to as many animals as they can and the same thing happened, the animal became thin and tall. His father suggests that they should sell this medicine, but when he ask George what is the recipe, HE FORGETS!! So they started to do these things again but it doesn’t work. So wacky things happened to the animal.

Reflection of Week 5

This week has been a very busy week. We have lots and lots of homework. We have been learning about New School Words. New School Words are words that are hard words for example happy can be change to Jubilant. The Jubilant is the new school word because it’s a hard word. At school we have also been learning about the difference of male and female and how to have a child. Well it’s kind of funny but at least I learn something from that. Mr. Steven and Mr. James taught us about the male and female differences. Some of the words and explanations are funny but at least we learn something. We also have been learning about figurative language. Figurative languages are like similes, personification, etc. At this week we have a ton of homeworks. We need to do the conception to birth draft and then type it, in just one day and guess what we still have lot of homework. School is so tiring, sometimes I even sleep till 11 o’clock or 12 o’clock, just to do my homework.

Stop Bullying before It’s too late

One day, there is a boy named Michael. He is a very smart at geography. He’s very curious at geographic, even sometimes before the teacher get to the point of explanation, he already ask the question. One day when Michael went out to play, he was asked by a bully that if I kept being smart, he will make me suffer. I told about this to my parents, and my paren say that I need to face this hardship. Maybe give him a present or invite him to a party, by this he will think that you’re so kind but he is mean to you, by this he will change his character. So I try this hope plan that my mother gave. But when I came to his house, his parent says that he died yesterday because he falls when he was cycling to a river. I watched his body lamented to the ground. So I lived happily without the bully.

At the library class we need to choose an artist and rewrite the biography about that the person. Here are my biography about Michael Jackson:

• Michael Jackson’s family are all musical( which me they can all sing or play an instrument)
• Even though Michael is still little he is already a very good singer
• He had a plastic surgery operation to make his nose more thinner

• He sings in the band called Jackson 5 ( which is the family)

One day on a Saturday morning. His mother decided to go shopping and leave George with Grandma. He is also instructed to give grandma the medicine at 11 o'clock precise. His Grandma is very mean, he kept asking him to do things and made a fuss why does he grow so fast. So he decided to get to a mischief that he will make his own medicine so that she nice or be surprised about the medicine. So he decided to work with it.

My Oral Presentation about influences

Have you ever been influenced by something? Well I have been influenced negatively and positively. These things can influence me at my future. Influence is the things that can change your live for example, being lazy can affect my life. God had made a big impact at me. He helped me in many different ways like at learning and difficulties. Some of the things that help me are praying. I always prayed whenever I have a test or at the start of the day. I also need to need to believe in God that he’ll help us. But for God to answer my prayer, I need to face many different stages like from hardship to perseverance and then God change our character to get to hope. God can also affect me at the future because when we have trouble, we can ask God to strengthen our faith. While at the negative side of influence are games. Games can affect me badly. It will affect me at my future. Some of the affects are, it will make me lazy. Some of the games will addict me by many things like it will make my thinking all about games and I cannot be focus at my teacher. Some of the games also can also make us do bad things. For example some game have violence it influence me to be meaner. This will affect me badly because it will make me lazy at my future, because at my future it will be hard to get a job because people want a person who is not lazy. The other positive influence is family. Family can be helpful, they teach you many things. Families are like the light in the dark. Especially my parents, they’re the one who teach me all the things like manners. Manners influence us a lot in many different ways. They can also teach us about God and how can we get closer to him. Sometimes when I feel sad or at hard times, they support me by telling some bible telling some bible verses or sometimes help us. This affects that my parents teach me will help me at the future. For example manners can help me, so that we can be polite and have many friends that can help me at my future. So, there are many influences that you’ll face at your future. But remember, you can change the negative influences to positive influences. For example games are a bad influence right but you can change it to a positive influences by playing learning games instead of violence games. Thank you for reading to my presentation.

Our Current Unit

I'm now currently at grade six and have been studying in a school called Sekolah Pelita Harapan which is at Lippo Village, Tangerang, Indonesia. It's THE BEST SCHOOL EVER!!! We have been learning about WHO WE ARE at our unit. At this unit we will be learning about physical developments which mean, we need to look at our past and look how we change age to age. We will also learning about DNA and cells.For example learning animal and plant cells and making the sample of it. We also learn how things influence us possitively and negatively and how it can affect our future. This picture is our grade 6 teacher.
